Foods you REFUSE to eat.

I posted my usual days over in the "Fit Nerds" thread so not to clog this one up :)

Grimnar's post made me think about my daily foods and I wanted to share too!

"REFUSE" is pretty powerful language... I'd love to see you guys in some sort of Les Stroud 5-10 day survival situation faced with these foods you "REFUSE" to eat. Of course there's food that all of us may not like, but as far as refuse I can't say I have many on the list. Like Gyoin said, I think I would try anything atleast once except maybe some more bizarre foods(looking at you Andrew Zimmerman) like fermented duck eggs and raw organs... The only thing that really comes to mind from my childhood is potted meat. I still to this day do not know why the hell my dad would ever put that on a sandwich, but then I would eat Vienna sausage which is about the same thing just packaged differently. Maybe it's not too much unlike a lot of crap most of us have eaten though like Taco Bell, or McDonald's... lol

Anyway, this has been my diet recently and hoping to stick with it for more than a year or two this time. Good thing is we get a free day to keep our sanity...

This is a guide we use to help plan our meals and shopping. And no offense to anyone who may like it but the tofu veggie burger protein vegan stuff is where we draw the line. We're not that extreme. =)

I would rather starve to death than eat water chestnuts.

Just the thought of biting into a water chestnut makes me wanna hork. It has the worst texture/taste combination in all of the food kingdom.

Water chestnuts are a bit odd for me as well. They're not completely awful but I'd much rather have an actual nut or some other crunchy thing in my stir fry/salad/etc.

I like to try just about anything. I'll always give something a chance no matter what it looks/smells like! That said, there are still some things I just won't eat a second time.

Beets - although I really like pickled/beet eggs
Kimchee - fermented cabage...need i say more?
Onions...period
lutefisk - I curse the day I tried it
fish-eyeball soup - don't remember the actual name but its a russian dish and there were eye balls in it. fish eye balls....

there are a few other things like brussel sprouts and asparagus, but it's how they are prepared and not the actual food.

Yea i'll try most things once. Beets are out for sure. never had lutefisk, fish-eyeball soup or kimchee but all that shit sounds nasty. I like onions on my burger or sauteed with some steak. Brussels sprouts and asparagus disgusting oh and radishes I'll never eat again.
