I saw Age of Ultron on opening night and wanted to give my impressions and hear what everyone else thought. Lots of spoilers, duly noted in the title.
First off, I was very pleased with how they treated Ultron. He was more fun and snarky than I ever remember him being, but that makes sense since the movie lore has him created by Stark vs Pym in the comics. I did get a little bored seeing the same robot smashed over and over again by the end, but the sheer number of them was pretty fantastic.
I also loved seeing Vision. He's not a favorite character of mine, but I like how they worked him in a way that didn't feel that forced and also helped to provide some set up towards Infiinity War. I'm less excited about the New Avengers they introduce at the end. War Machine is basically a budget Iron Man, and I think Falcoln is pretty worthless.
Did Quicksilver die or not? They seemed to imply death, but it usually takes more than a few dozen bullets to kill a comic book character.
There was way too little Scarlet Witch and too underpowered as well. Maybe they are giving her room to grow? Quicksilver definitely stole all the new recruit spotlight and they casted Wanda as constantly needing protection.
Any excuse for a Hulk fight is a good one, I guess, but mind control starts to wear thin.
I was a bit surprised to see Thanos at the end declaring he was going to take care of things himself. I didn't expect an appearance from him until Infinity War. The next movie is Ant-Man, so you know there's no way he's fighting Thanos. Perhaps he will factor into the next Thor? or possibly Guardians of the Galaxy?
