Last year, we shipped a software feature called Big Picture, a user-interface tailored for televisions and gamepads.
This year we’ve been working on even more ways to connect the dots for customers who want Steam in the living-room.
Soon, we’ll be adding you to our design process, so that you can help us shape the future of Steam.

Steam has made no effort at hiding it wants to expand into the console market. I think in the next coming days we will be seeing an announcement about Steam's own console. What I hope is that it allows you to access your Steam library straight from its console or from a PC.

I already buy some games both on console and PC just based on who is playing it. I would love to have the freedom to use my television when I want and switch to my PC without having to pay the same price. Now I know some of you probably already do this. Hooking a computer up to a television is nothing new. I just like having things wrapped up in a neat little package. If the price point is right I think this can compete with the Xbone and PS4.

According to some thing online it will be more like this: A PC company who builds PCs can ask steam for approval and then they preinstall Linux and Steam for you. So no Hardware directly from Valve. I will post the sauce as soon as I find it again.
