Do you have any friends in the guild? If so, who?
No. However, I would like to meet, play with and get to know ARX's members.
Main Character
Arus Arel
Character Name
Arus Arel
Race
Human
Profession(Class)
Guardian
What role do you wish to play in the guild? For example: PvP, PvE, Casual/Social
I play casually, mostly PvE. I love exploring, checking out contents, completing challenges. Furthermore, I love roleplaying. My character name comes from a manga called Dragon Quest - Emblem of Roto, which was an inspiration from my childhood time. Roto's original name was Arel. Arus, the main protagonist, is a direct descendant. When Guild wars 2 was announced, I felt that human guardian was the perfect fit. Besides PvEing, I love hanging out at forum and chatting with the guild in generals. So, in that aspect, I play for social reasons as well. I'm not too good with PvP and was never competitive at it since I don't have the dexterity, however, with the introduction of WvW, I will be trying out those contents at launch.
Which previous MMO's or online games have you played and how long for?
I started out playing Dragon Court (a silly clicking game, mostly just text based in 2003) for a few years. Then back in 2005 a friend of mine introduced me to Diablo 2 and I played it for six months (if you would even consider Diablo 2 an MMO). Then Guild Wars was released and I started playing since. It has been over seven years (with occasional breaks). I picked up Rappelz in 2008 and played it for about four months and did not like the pay-to-win system they have, so I went back to Guild Wars. Now Guild Wars 2 is coming out in three weeks, it will be my next MMO for a while.
Were you a part of a guild? What was your experience?
I was part of several guilds over the span of seven years while playing Guild Wars. The first was a guild from the friend who introduced to Diablo 2 and we started Guild Wars together. The guild expanded to an alliance, however, as it grew people began to grow apart and the alliance collapsed. My friend stopped playing Guild Wars and another guy took over and so we each went our way. I joined another small guild and had a good time for over the next two years. We only had 9, maybe 10 people but it was fun. Then the two guild leaders had real life problems and stopped playing. So I made an alt account and used it to stay with that guild until now while my main moved on to find another stable home. Fortunately, summer 2008, I found a home, a guild like a family. We played together every week. We had fun times at giveaways, cooperative missions, sometimes we just went on vent and chat about our lives. We were each assigned / claimed an object in our guild hall to commemorate our part in the history of the guild (I took the dye pool). Then last year, two of our best members got married and families took precedent. The process was slow but now we have became inactive. I have decided to move on for Guild Wars 2.
How did you hear about the Guild?
I saw your podcasts (3.5 and 6) on Youtube and I think that you guys are trying to build a great community and a family that I can fit in.
What will you bring to the ALTTABME community? (Chatty? Skilled? Funny? Helping?)
I play PvE a lot so more often when there is a guild organized group to do an event I would love to participate if I can. I chat sometimes but but my English is terrible. I love helping other players ( guildies or not ) so if there's a friend or a guild member needing help and if I'm available, I would love to give a helping hand.
Will Arcanix be the only guild you join?
To be honest, Arcanix will not be the only guild I would join. Let me explain, I would love to build a home in Arcanix, however, there will be times that other friends might ask me to join their guild to help with a certain event and I would like to leave myself an option for that. Most likely however, Arcanix would be my main guild for a long time.
Is there anything else you would like to throw in here at the end?
On a weird / odd / more nerdy side, sometimes I collect in-game data and try to formulate things. (I'm a math major). During the first beta event I actually collected and successfully create a formula that would compute how many attribute points you have at each level. I tried the same for health but didn't have enough data.
