What's new

Post your typical day.

Well comparing to some of you guys my life's pretty simple.
First alarm clock go off at 4:50 but normaly i get up at 4:57.
I pick the clothes i have on a chair next to bed, dress up, pee, eat a banana and get in car(father's car, mine's dead right now)
Then i drive 30km(18 miles) in mountain roads until work at 5:30.
I work at supermarket, my job is to unload and load trucks and check its containings.
So it's pretty simple and any monkey with a forklift license can do it.
After 8 or 9 hours of work I get out and normally go home.
This pass 2 weeks my after work time was fixing my car but normally I play games, watch tv shows or goof on internet.
Then dinner, bath, bed, normally at midnight or 1 am.
That sums my life pretty much, taking some exceptions to birthdays partys or friends remembering that I exist.
:p

I love the detailed breakfast explanation =)

I also tend to do the same thing for breakfast every day...which is to say one to two cups of coffee. Sometimes I get a breakfast sandwich from the local Wawa (http://www.wawa.com/WawaWeb/). Yes I know it's a silly name...awesome coffee and sandwiches though so :p !
WOW!!! that wawa place looks amazingly delicious!!!
and yeah detailed breakfast cos... i usually have the same everyday hehe

- Usuallly wake up between 6am-8am
- Shower, brush teeth, shave, match a shirt with a neck tie or bow tie and dress pants, proceed to put on said outfit, don white coat and stethoscope (I'm a 4th year medical student, schedule varies greatly depending on what hospital or clinic I'm in for the month)
- Grab a granola bar or banana on the way out for breakfast
- Walk to monorail and ride to the hospital
- Lunch around noon. Either hospital food or catered lunch lectures.
- Work until somewhere between 4pm-7pm. Typically seeing sick kids...yanno, saving lives and whatnot! :p
- Ride monorail home
- Dinner between 5:30-6pm. Variable extravagance depending on how the day went.
- Exercise for a while most evenings
- May read articles or study depending on how ambitious I am feeling.
- Either spend time with the gf or play GW2 for the evening, depending on her schedule.
- Sleep around 12am
- Repeat
(Sounds kinda boring when I type it out...but generally I stay busy and enjoy my days!)

Ok, here goes:

Workdays
  • Tuesday morning at about 6am to 8am wake up because I was sleeping at night on my weekend
  • Do random weekend stuff (internet, housework, take the dog to the park, etc) till about noon.
  • Try to get to sleep at noon so I can sleep before work. Don't manage to get more than an hour or two of sleep.
  • 7pm get ready for work and go including getting groceries for that week's lunches
  • 9pm start work, 9:05pm get on the internet and mess around for 2hrs while the earlier shift is finishing up.
  • 11pm do actual work for an hour or 2.
  • 12am (tuesday/wednesday) go to lunch for 39 cent wings
  • 2am get back to work and do maybe another hour of work.
  • 3am to 7:30am internet at work or 30 min naps here or there
  • 8:00 arrive at home
  • 8:05am be asleep in bed cause I have just been up for like 25 hours with a few naps
  • Wake up for work sometime between 4 and 7pm
  • Repeat work schedule (minus wings) for wed, thur, and friday nights
  • On wed, thur, and friday nights make lunches at work that consist of steaks, or chicken, or pork, or whatever from real groceries that I cook from scratch at work. I eat better there than at home where its easy to order out.
Weekends
  • Sometimes stay up on saturday when I get home from work, sometimes sleep for 8 to 10 hours
  • usually my sleep schedule gets more and more where I sleep at night on sat, sun, mondays which messes me up for my first day of work on tuesday night.
  • When I'm awake I usually internet, gw2, housework, go see movies, take the dog to the park, help friends move, go out to eat, etc. its all random.
Random times through the week
  • Every day before I sleep I usually read a book. Usually sci-fi/fantasy. Sometimes thrillers, and sometimes nonfiction stories about people.
  • At work and sometimes at home I download and watch tons of tv and movies.
  • Cook. I love to cook.
  • I get stuck in random hobbies for about 3 months at a time. If I am on one of those kicks I will spend lots of free time (and money) on them. They have included, building electronics, building computers, sculpting, painting, painting warhammer fantasy miniatures, playing miniature tabletop games, building/restoring a motorcycle, fly fishing, camping, chess, various board games, building websites, researching stock market investments (no actual investments yet), and some other things I cant think of right now.

  1. Wake Up
  2. Shit, Shower and Shave (trim, since I'm a bearded chap)
  3. Take the dog out
  4. Go to work
  5. Browse forums/reddit/gaming sites all day at work
  6. Go home
  7. If it's Wednesday, pub trivia. If it's Friday, poker night. All other nights = GAME ON!
  8. Sleepy times

Ok yo....
I wake up late every morning, manager's calling, I'm still yawning.
Get up, wake up, hair and make-ups... waiting for you, don't be stalling
This performance is important, I don't think I can put my all in.
Hold on! I was drunk last night, now it's all kicking in and I don't feel right,
Gave my number to a brah who wasn't my type, now my phone's on silent I'm being polite.
Private callers get no love from me,
Just let me be...

[Oh wait a sec, that is Lady Sov's typical day, not mine... ;)]

My day is uncannily similar though... I hope it's not my car, instead of you, that is stalling.
My performance at work IS important... and I do keep my phone on silent because I hate answering it.

I laughed out loud when I saw this one... you just summed up my life. An X girlfriend called me eclectic. I thought she was insulting me maybe until I looked up the definition. My wife hates it cause I'll get into some random hobby and spend money on it then in a few months I'm on to something else. That's why I have $250 tennis racket, probably $1,500 in WH40k, another $1,200 in bass fishing gear, I think my golf bag and it's contents are worth about $1,400 and that was buying a driver at waaay marked down price. I buy a new computer game every day or two then watch it collect dust or sit unplayed on Steam. I have a $1,400 bass guitar in my closet that I actually played for 12 years, and I have a garage full of gym equipment that I have yet to put together. My wife is waiting for my triumphant return to caring about my body but I just can't seem to kick this laziness. It's so much easier and requires little to no effort. lol

I have a closet full of hobbies I've invested in to and I can tell you I haven't played WH40k since probably 2008, haven't been bass fishing in years that will probably be my excuse to finance a $30,000 boat one day, If I tried to play tennis right now I would probably break my ankles, I haven't played my bass guitar in 2 years, I maybe play a round of golf a few times a year, and I can tell you I'm as far as I've ever been from healthy and we tell ourselves we're going to start working out next Monday... or next Monday... ok, next Monday for real this time.

Anyway, I just couldn't help but think of all the money I've thrown away on all these hobbies that I hardly even do any more. My wife always gets so mad at me cause we can never seem to save money and when we need to fix something up around the house we can't afford it... yeah, it's probably all my fault.

Exactly. I have so much stuff that I payed good money for. If you look behind me in the podcasts you can see a bit of it on display. Some paper craft stuff, my compressor for my airbrush, my re-soldering station, games I collected.

My gf used to get mad at me for spending the money, but I beat her with this logic; she spends as much as me, only in small increments. A pair of shoes, some extra unneeded makeup just cause its cute, clothes, stuff. I spend all my money at the beginning of a 3 or 6 month stint then don't spend on crap for that time that I am in my new hobby.

I would hate to actually tally up the money I have spent.
