What's new

Post your rig

yeah i know.. even cheaper, BUT imho if you are spending $$ on a cooler better go with the best you can afford.
(right now I'm in love with the H100)

yeah it was definitively built on a budget so no extra cooling but i have no plan to OC at least for a while, but a h100 is probably going to be my first upgrade regardless of if i OC

My ancient computing device:

NVIDEA Geforce 9800GTX+
AMD Phenom 9950 Quad-Core Processor
620 Watt Coolermaster
Microsoft windows 7 home premium 64-bit
500 GB Samsung
4 GB fysical memory ( no idea what brand xD)
HL-DT-ST DVD-RAM GH22NP20 ATA Device from LG
I run on 2.6 GHz
Case: Asus Vento AD Chassis

Monitor: LG FLATRON W2261VP
Mouse: Logitech Marathon mouse M705
Keyboard: Logitech G110 Gaming keyboard
Sound: Trust Tytan 2.1 Subwoofer speaker set
Headset: Creative Fatal1ty

On Can you run it-website it said that it should be able to run Guild wars fine on pretty high settings, I hope that's true!

Oh ho ho, I've gotta get into this. You guys met me in-game, want to know what I'm running?

Intel Pentium Dual CPU E2200 @ 2.2ghz
3Gb of DDR2 Ram
Nvidia GTS 250
OS: Vista

Generic Keyboard
Generic Mouse
Ps2 Eyetoy webcam
some mic stand I found broken in a drawer
A headset that does not have a working mic
1600x900 lcd monitor

Basically my pc is a patchwork quilt made from orphan shirt hand me downs! What do I win:D

~I run Gw2 on lowest, often times find myself running at 10 or less fps during dyna events, and in large events(wvw large) and wvw keep battles I have 1 frame per every 3-ish seconds

Edit: As an explanation, I have never had much money, and have always recieved hand-me-down pc parts from others. My pc has been a few years behind for my entire life, but somehow just new enough for me to play the latest games like garbage. My dream is to, once I find a job and have other things settled, have my first up to date gaming pc ever. I actually won Guildwars 2 in a contest out of sheer luck, as I had no money to pay for that either.

And for those of you perhaps thinking that you couldn't play gw2 without a gaming mouse. I find that mapping like this helps quite a bit
f1-f4 to Q,E,R,T
Strafe left and right to A, D
Utilities + heal to Z, X, C, v
Elite to Left Ctrl
and Shift to Dodge
Capslock to Target Nearest Enemy
Autorun to G
Guild Chat to ;(or something)

Ordered this today. With that said, I will be selling my current rig(see earlier in this thread) if anyone is interested.

Check out my specs and if anyone has suggestions to do it better im all ears. Note - I have a 1tb unused HDD sitting on my desk, hence no HDD.

Damn Zakis, nice rig!

Falx, I have a very similar build, and it performed great in BWE3. Also, the thermal paste that comes pre-applied on the H100 is high quality, no real need to apply anything else.

I rocked this for BWE3...

CPU - MOS 6510 enhanced 6502-compatible microprocessor.

Memory - 64K RAM (bank-switched over ROM).

Ports - Commodore serial port (for printer, disk drives and other peripherals), cartridge port (compatible with C64C, SX64 and C128), user port (compatible with VIC-20, C64 and C128), video out, RF out, two 9-pin digital joystick/paddle ports (Atari standard; one port can be used for a light pen or mouse), proprietary cassette recorder port (compatible with VIC-20, C64 and C128)

Video/audio - NTSC (PAL in PAL markets) with separate chroma/luma signals and audio on a proprietary DIN connector. Built-in RF modulator with RF output provided through a single female RCA connector

Advanced color graphics with a pixel resolution of up to 320x200 (plus a border area) and hardware sprites with hardware x2 scaling and vertical/horizontal hardware flip capability

Advanced three-voice mono audio

Zakis i built basically my same rig i posted with maingear on the phone yesterday. They wanted nearly a grand to build it and put it in the shift case compared to what you can buy the stuff on newegg for. (not with maingears case obviously) I would have payed a couple hundred, but it was just too much, so im going to do the build myself. As for your system, I really liked the rampage and the 690 but couldnt justify the cost/performance ratio. I would say in a year or so from now the 690 is going to be in a much better price/performance category and you will really see alot more people using it.

All that being said, your rig is going to obliterate gw2 and lots more games to come.

Its pretty much the same specs as tristan, minus the sound card cause he is an extreme audiophile. My rig now can run GW2 on high and probably would be able to roll it on ultra in some situations once its completely optimized. The idea here is being able to stream/record/video edit as well as being able to enjoy games in all their glory. I also enjoy building my rigs, but I dont know the first thing about liquid cooling so I said fuck it.

2500k @ 4.8GHZ
Corsair A50 Heatsink
Asus Maximus Gene-Z
2x2GB 1600 G-Skill Ripjaws (I should get more though)
PNY GTX 560 Ti (it does the job pretty well)

Samsung HD322HJ (Primary HDD)
WDC WD3200BEVT (Secondary HDD for storing downloads)
Maxtor STM3160211AS, I hooked it up to a PATA to SATA adaptor (Secondary HDD for storing downloads)
This HDD is the first one I've ever gotten and it never failed to do it's work, that's why I'm keeping it untill it dies.

A cheapo 680Watt PSU, wireless keyboard and a generic Logitech keyboard
An unbranded pc case (I modded it though, else the heatsink wouldn't fit)
Two really old monitors (1440x900 19" & 1280x1024 17")
Superlux HD668B headphones (they may be cheap, but it sounds like a mid end Sennheiser)
A generic pair of speakers

The whole thing can run any game out now at max settings.
Though I should get myself some new peripherals (maybe a second graphics card and three new monitors for surround view)

Payed it all by selling my own stuff (e.g. a NES with about 50 games; I may have a pretty empty room now but it was worth it) and earning money by fixing computers.

RETINA DISPLAY!!!!!! that is probably the coolest thing, apart form that it's
MacBook Pro Retina, Mid 2012
Processor 2.3 GHz Intel Core i7
Memory 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics Intel HD Graphics 4000 512 MB
Software Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4 (11E2620)

I like to game on the go

I won't even bother posting the PC because compared to all these she'd be embarrassed

arrrg.. case came today, the rest of mine comes on monday, switched to the asrock extreme6/gb board instead of the sabertooth becuase of quality issues on the sabertooth :(

Intel i7 920
Coolermaster V8

The guts. I posted the specs somewhere earlier in this thread and I'm far too lazy to go find them.

Nagol that place looks kinda uncomfortable to play at... i mean you'd have lean forward all the time right?

Ha, no way. I just lounge around in 1 of 363 different positions on my couch. The table with the mouse and keyboard is fully mobile and 'tucks' under the couch. It's actually the most comfortable setup I've had next to a Herman Miller office chair.

that is an amazing set up Nagol, wish i had the money to set it up like that. how big is the TV?

55 inches of warm, LED glow. However, being is that I live in a studio of 380 sq. ft. it feels much larger. I bought the thing before I moved into my current dwelling [when I lived in a much larger place with my ex] but it's not like I was just going to get rid of it for such a 'silly' reason.
