GW2 My Warrior Build - Looking for Feedback

I know all of this stuff is probably gonna be fiddled with for BWE3, but I'm just trying to get a general feel for the direction of my build. Lemme know what you think. Also some questions. I realize the guild's kind of light on Warriors but my questions aren't really class specific.

If I spec for shouts to heal, do they benefit from +healing? Also: if they heal do they count as "healing skills"? Does Might affect damage on Ranged Weapons? Definitely a more support-oriented builds. I'm looking at something like this for my WvW build, thinking of playing something different (or a Guardian) for sPvP. Tried to focus on getting people to places quickly, and hopefully giving some support both with the shouts, and some of the CC I can provide to let people gain some distance.

Went with Rifle because I feel like melee classes will probably get focused down very quickly in WvW, unless they are sneaky thieves, and I don't wanna just sit in the group waiting for an opportunity, never let up on the pressure, and when the opportunity does comes, I have a nice gap closer, and probably a bunch of adrenaline from shooting people in the face.

It looks pretty good for More of a support warrior. I agree about rifle, being able to jump out of the fray and still fight, or fight ranged when ur on a wall in wvw is nice. Plus rifle 4 is awesome... 5 stack vulnerability is like taking someone down an armor class. I am probably goin to go with a greatsword/rifle build and just burst people down. When it comes to the passive from tactics making your shouts heal... I'm not sure but I don't think it would actually make the skill a healing skill. And plus healing I think would effect it. I haven't really played warrior yet, just done some research as much as I can. Looking forward to trying out many builds in BWE3.

This is what I am going to try out this BWE3... never played a warrior, but this seems like my play style. Lots of dmg and speed buff/break conditions to keep on them and burst them down!

Changing to axe instead of sword in mainhand. I'm hoping to have full adrenaline from hitting people with my rifle, use my shouts, apply my vulnerability stack, and close with a nasty Eviscerate followed by my warhorn buff, and just go to town. Doing more damage for every boon. :D

Since you're playing a Charr, you may find Battle Roar racial stacks very nicely with For Great Justice (doesn't work in sPvP of course). I'm not a fan of IWAY because of the long cool down AND conditional rally (as opposed to skills from other classes that auto rally). Condition removal is a good idea, I think everyone should have some in WvW.

Yeah I know 85 seconds is crazy. I dunno what else to put there though. Any suggestions for things that will synergize well there? I was thinking maybe just throwing in Throw Bolas or something. So racials work in WvW but not sPvP?

Too bad the roar isn't considered a shout. =/

Oh wait, after looking it up, I realized it's a utility. I didn't know there were racial utilities as well as elites. I'll definitely try it out in BWE3. Having some more might and fury is always good. :D Just looking over this stuff, it looks like Warriors can get some pretty disgusting critical capabilities. :p I'm more support oriented though.

Changed it a little. I really like the trait "Mobile Strikes", seems like with all of the conditions out there... sticking on your target could be difficult. But with all of the movement abilities that the 2 swords have and the warhorn, I should have no problem. This is an sPVP build btw, which is why I didnt go a ranged weapon (like I will in WvWvW). Also, the idea on those 2 sigils for my sword/horn is basically I switch to that weapon set when I am focused... it freezes everyone around me, I gain endurance and I gain 5 strikes of adrenaline because of the trait in the discipline tree. Lemme know what you think.

Btw I feel like the Signet of stamina would be good for you, short cooldown(45 secs) and removes all conditions. plus faster endurance regen means more often dodges and less dmg taken.

That's actually not a bad idea. Might take the Signet. Conditions were killer in GW1. I'd know I played a condition ranger that could apply burning, poison, bleeding, and disease at the same time lol.

Here's what I ended up with after BWE3:

The traits still don't quite fit how I want them, but I'll iron it out eventually. This build was actually a lot more fun in sPvP than I expected. The banner is actually pretty sweet for getting off that rally when nothing else can do it. I also switched I Will Avenge You with Fear Me. Between that and Rifle Butt I have a good chance of saving someone from a finisher.

This build REALLY let me pick my battles. As soon as I started losing, I could whip out my Sword/Warhorn, break roots and cripples, speed myself up, and dodge more, and I could get out of hairy situations very easily. The healing on the shouts really adds up too.

Basically I start with Sword/Warhorn out, keep my speed ability up as often as possible. When my group nears enemies, I use my Horn 5, we dodge more, they dodge less, switch to Rifle, use For Great Justice, buffing and healing my allies, and removing a condition. If anyone seems to be getting bogged down or I get immobilized or stunned, I use Shake It Off and roll away. Build up bleeds and adrenaline with my rifle, and when I'm ready, I apply Vulnerability, switch to sword, use my closer, cripple with 1 sec immobilize, and hit em with my burst. Blow my horn skills, switch back, rinse and repeat.

Not a whole lot of damage, but I have a lot of support and pretty decent CC. Tons of sustained AOE condition removal. Good at rallying people too with that nice fear. :D Tons of survivability, and I could get myself out of nearly any situation with all my root / snare breakers. Barely died in sPvP.

Still cant decide whether I want sword or axe. Axe has the vulnerability, but also a ranged cripple I don't really need. Plus the vulnerability doesn't last long, so it's hard to get it to stack long enough to make good use of it. I think the bleeding will be more effective in the long run.

You want as much cripple as possible in this current build. Leg specialist 1s immobilise trait in tactics is powerful.

Your core shout mechanics are sound and carry the rest of the build I think, but, you're wasting your points in discipline - the trait points aren't really helping your build. Critical damage in a non-crit build? Your chosen discipline traits are mostly defensive - so why not put them in defense (or some other trait) instead? For example.

Alternatively, consider a more aggressive build like this one which does stacks of bleeding and every cripple causes the 1s immobilise AND gives you fury.

Bah wont load on my phone ill check it out when i get home. I know discipline doeant reallly match but i need the weapon swap lowered.

Losing the lower cooldown on weapon swap kills me... cuz I switch weapons almost every time it's up already and still feel like it's too long lol.

not enough Greatsword....charge, hundred blades, me dead

i was getting owned by warriors doing this...idk what they were running but it only took like 3 skills to kill me

Well that's the thing. It takes three skills, and while they're on cooldown they aren't really that much of a threat. Once people get used to removing conditions builds like that wont be nearly as potent. Give yourself something to break CCs and when you see a warrior just keep your finger over it. :p

I don't really like Greatsword. Also the Charge only knocks you down if you are moving at the time, if I remember correctly. Just be aware of that and you can probably avoid it. I didn't have much trouble with it because I have my Warhorn 4 and Shake It Off which both get me out of it. Having way more HP helps too though. :p I started trying to fear or rifle butt warriors with greatswords as soon as I saw em up to their antics. I wanted to go for a team-oriented build, but I just really didn't dig the guardian.

They don't have to be moving to knock em down. And if they think this and stop moving it makes it easier for me to land 100 blades lol. Also removing conditions won't help you against that build either (only against the bleed builds). You need a stun removal. Also, if the warrior is running the correct spec, he still has enough dmg/Survivabity to be a force in between the burst rotation every 30 secs. Without my burst rotation it is a fair fight.... With it, not even funny it's so unfair.

If I recall knockdown isn't considered a condition... I may be wrong. And yes some people are getting smarter at learning to dodge, however you can adapt to that as well. Run at someone wait for them to prematurely dodge or use number 5 skill on great sword which looks like bull charge. once they dodge, then do the bulls charge. It's all about adapting to changing circumstances, the smarter your opponent is the more you have to do to land a skill. Doesn't mean the skills are useless, just means you have to be smarter too :D

No yeah, I mean the immobilize on the Hundred Blades itself. That's a good idea, haha! I love this game. Either way, good build or bad, or not totally optimized, your skill is what decides the battle. If you're good and have a sucky build you can still do some awesome stuff, if you suck and your build is awesome, you will still suck. :p

But on Bull's Charge it only does the knockdown if they are moving right? That's what the tooltip makes it sound like.. and they had skills like that in GW1, figured they were carrying that idea over here. People are CONSTANTLY moving in GW2 though. :p

Any more up to date calculators about? This doesn't feel right in some areas.. I feel like it was different in BWE3. I know the tiers are different but I feel like I'm missing something else.
