Mouse in the House!

Yeah, I like the idea of using it as a mic button, but I'm afraid I'd be accidentally holding it down all the time. I need to find one somewhere that I can actually try it out.
do you have a Frys Electronics store in your area? That would be the best place. Or you can order it from newegg.com and if you dont like it then you can send it back for a full refund.

I was interested in the Cyborg MMO7 mouse, although I detest the colors... I really wanted the RAT9 but like you said it's only got 2 buttons on the side.

Has anyone messed with one of these?

I looked into this mouse as well. It has a lot of cool features and great SW from what I understand. It's on the larger side - too large for my small girly man hands. As cool as having the G-Shift button may be, from what I have heard and read it might be more trouble than its worth. Although, as with everything, I'm sure one gets used to it.

See I honestly like large, heavy mice. I have to have the weight coupled with a high level of sensitivity.. Lighter mice frustrate me b/c I can't use them with high sensitivity effectively.

I also like larger mice but i play with a very low sensitivity. The Naga has been very hard to get used too because it is so small.

The third mouse button on the right is a perfect Mic Bind. And I have used this mouse a little. And the way the numbers buttons on the side are designed, it is easier to memorize which button is which. Its a 1 up on the naga for me. Plus I love logitech gear. I have never been let down by high end Logitech.
I didn't even think about using that for a Mic-PTT bind... I think I'm gonna pull the gun on this mouse in the near future.

just bought a new mouse. Had to switch off the Cyborg Rat 5 cause there was only 2 extra buttons. I went with the Cyborg rat mmo 7 and its just a bit overkill with 78 programmable functions on it. It has 2 function lock buttons (the metalic red ones on the R and L mouse buttons) that act as a "hold down" button for your R and L buttons. It is also adjustable in weight, length, pinky rests, and thumb rest/button position.

and here is a great youtube review of it.

I just bought the Logitech G600! It is pretty comfortable and the shape of the side G-Keys is a big +1 from the naga. You can also light up each key in a different color. The only downside and it is small, is the ring finger button on the end. It is a little easy to press, but it wont take much to get used to. It is very smooth scrolling mouse. And if you have a logitech keyboard it goes hand in hand together.

I think 13 mouse buttons x 6 modes isn't enough. I will use one of these

Oh, wait. that only has 64 possible buttons when my new mouse has 78. ill stick with what I got.

Yeah, that's what I heard regarding the G-Shift key. The customization seems great though! I liked how you can adjust the all the colors to your liking - a idea Razer should implement in the future.

After returning the G700, I picked up a Naga 2012 and so far I'm liking it a lot better. Time will tell how I can manage it in GW2, but so far I'm liking it.

what was wrong with the G700?
I wrote it out in the other thread that I can't find at the moment via search, but essentially, their binding software is fail and the mouse buttons were just awkward. Also, the cord that connects to it is stiff, not braided. I had high hopes, but it wasn't for me. I like the Naga so far.

I've used a trackball mouse forever, not needing a mouse pad is what attracted me to them in the first place, the way my computer is set up at the moment it wouldn't be practical to use a mouse with a mouse pad. And besides that, I couldn't let my husband use it if we had a mouse pad, he already has to use his left hand. He's a righty, but with his neuropathy he can't use it very well.

Oh, and I found this pic, it's the mouse I originally fell in love with, like 15 years ago, lol

I used your current one until I got the one you want not long ago. I love it. I use one of the buttons for Push-to-Talk on Mumble, and the fact that its wireless is surprisingly useful. I'd recommend taking the red trackball out of the old one and using it in the new one, since the blue ball isn't as smooth and would take some getting used to (and might cause trouble for your husband).

Nice, I've not seen anyone else ever use this type of mouse, anyone that comes over and uses our computer is like 'wtf, this mouse is weird', and since the mouse I have has started acting up, I'll gladly take the ball and use it for the new one, thanks for the tip!

Not only do I have a weird mouse, I have a keyboard with no visible letters.
