Tablet Dungeon Hunter 4: Thank God for loose code

Let me say first of all that Dungeon Hunter 4 is a really great quality game. It's a Diablo style dungeon crawler that really delivers graphically, with the story, and with the diversity of classes, abilities, and armor customization.

Unfortunately, the publishers are also greedy sons a witches that made a game designed to force you to pay for power upgrades, or else condemn you to grind pitifully until you give up. Fortunately, they are also lazy sons a witches that apparently didn't debug so well since the game like to randomly gift you high level, expensive items for no apparent reason.

I have twice received a high level weapon without ever making a purchase. Let me be clear- I'm no hacker. I couldn't if I tried. All I know is one moment I'm looking at a tier 47 crafted weapon, and the next, it's sitting in my inventory. My dps jumped from 2k to 21k instantaneously, and I am now mowing down demons with wild abandon.

Besides the glaring weakness of trying to force you to part with your money, the main one is that there seems to be no middle ground. You are either pathetic weakling, one shot by any passing goblin, or an unholy angel of vengeance dispensing divine justice to the masses. The former is no fun at all, the latter is hilarious.

If you've got a tablet, the game is worth a go, even if you get blocked by the inevitable wall. When that happens tho, hang it in the shop awhile. Santa may just be in town.

I really enjoyed DH2. That was Diablo-esk at its best. RPG dungeon crawler with loot, stats, etc. Really easy, but still fun.
DH3 was such a step back. It was a glorified horde mode and was definitely more about the power ups and key unlocks than anything else. It still had that DH feel but was definitely a different kind of game.

Does DH4 go back to the exploration roots where there are quests and gear etc?

DH4 is very linear. There are "quests" but they all consist of "stand here and fight stuff." There's no gathering or crafting to speak of. It's a fun dungeon crawler, but not particularly challenging if you bought gear or had some glitched to you.

Also an update: I'm now level 38 with 23% crit chance, 290% crit dmg, 58k+ dps. I've beaten the last boss on normal. There are some elite dungeons that pwn my face in. They want me to buy more gear. -bruceno-
