Cubicle Accessories or Decorations.

Alright guys, I know not everyone here has an office style job, but seeing as how I've recently acquired a perm position and now have a static home for my work life, I need to start personalizing it a bit.The problem is, I've never done this, and some of my SUPER nerdy knick-knacks are too nerdy for the work place (at this time at least....)

Does anyone have good suggestions on how to decorate a cubicle space? I have quite a bit of empty space on the top, as well as a "tack" wall space on two sides. My co workers keep making fun of me that it's too bland and empty >_>

Edit: Links to websites for purchase or pictures would help as well :)

ThinkGeek is your friend for office/cube goodies. I rock this when I'm in the office. I really should bring it home now that I'm never there.

I've also had these at one time, no idea where they went now.

Yeah, I buy things from ThinkGeek quite frequently. Been a member for a decade or something crazy like that.

But sadly I think the missiles are a bit... Too much for here?

I usually start with a few pictures of me and my wife. That's always a good conversation starter.
Next up is something Jets related. Gotta support the local sports team.
Definitely a toy or two. Usually something obscure that people wouldn't normally realize what it is, but you'll run into that 1 or 2 people that do and make friends with them. For instance the snowman above looks like a Cylon. So anyone who has seen BSG will comment. I also have this on my desk at home.

My cubicle is full of things for work. Good thing too cause it'll be easy to grab all my stuff next friday when I leave haha.

Well, it's good to just get it all out there. I mean, if you're nerdy so what? I have a box of "office" decorations that I keep for when I have said office to put them into. It's a bunch of small vinyl figures that I've collected over the years, a few pictures of my dog, girlfriend, little sister. I also have a few classic horror movie posters that would be slapped on those walls, all nice and framed and what not.

Unless they have restrictions I would just go to town, man. Make that bitch yours.

I dont have a cubicle or an office. I do have a locker but its too full of uniforms and cop stuff. I do however have a big figurine of Master Chief who now resides on my fireplace mantle. He was previously dubbed 'Guardian of the Computer Command Center" and was somewhere on my computer desk at all times. Once I get a new computer desk for the new place Ill probably end up with a good amount of thinkgeek stuff on the desk. On a slightly related note I got this stuff the other day from thinkgeek. Figured I would post this stuff since ill never have a cubicle but I do have a new condo.

I found the way to decorate was a mixture of "What makes you feel at home" and "what you wouldn't put at work because it is too cheesy".

Ultimately you want your work space to be open, free flowing, and clean.

So decorate so you can keep it less cluttered. It will make you FEEL better and allow for you to work happier and enjoy coming to work.

Well I have a work area that I keep everything in, organized and exactly where I want it.

Then I have a fuck ton of empty space. I just need a few things to fill in that space.

Things that you love.

A Zelda statuette would be a good start.

I think I may start with some 8-bit stuff for now and keep costs low. Been looking around for megaman/zelda stuff in that regards.
