I just ran across information on the Piston gaming system today. It's at CES and has some really cool features. Like being completely upgradeable, runs any we based or PC game, "should" run the Steam OS, and supports multiple display formats including 3 monitors, TV, and even Oculus Rift.
At $999 it's about the cost of a decent PC, but in a smaller package. It comes with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of SSD, but can be expanded to hold a lot more.
I think it's an awesome idea, but at the end of the day isn't it just a small, focused computer? For the price, I wonder if just building a PC wouldn't be better.
