There was a kid that moved to Florida to Kansas when I was in about 4th grade. We convinced him that the seeds from the cottonwood trees were snow. He tried to make snowballs out of it. Priceless.
So mother nature just made a liar out of me. It hailed at my house today and about 10 miles north it snowed. People were so freaked out they shut down 2 freeways for about 45 minutes. no joke.
Snowmageddon update: the snow has slowed and visibility is improved. The bus routes are canceled, but they are making a special trip to pick people up at about 1:30.
This is actually 100% accurate depiction of people who live in the northeast. I have literally done this on a few occasions, when I happen to be off from work. Essential personnel and all, I don't get snow days. Besides I LOVE driving in the snow.
