Tablet Project Ajax

Project Ajax isn't a game- it's a very well done graphic novel about the CIA's involvement in the removal of democracy from Iran and the installation of a Shah that would do what we wanted. Apparently, it seemed like a good idea at the time.

I don't know how much of it is true. It is certainly embelished and gaps filled in, but it is spattered with actaul historical events and even some old newsreel footage that provides a lot of validity to the story.

As interesting as it is, the best part of Project Ajax isn't the story- it's the presentation. The graphic novel panels float across the screen and make great use of the space and high quality screen. Music plays in the background and sound effects, such as guns firing, birds flying, and crowd noise really immerses you into the story.

Just prior to reading this, I had read one of DC's new Superman comics. It was a glorified scan of a comic book and left a really bad taste in my mouth for graphic novels on the iPad. I almost didn't try Project Ajax, but I'm so glad I did.

In my opinion, Project Ajax is the gold standard of what graphic novels could and should be on tablet devices. Do yourself a favor and experience it for yourself.

Get a decent cbr program if you want to read comics on the tablet. I use a free one I downloaded for my asus tablet and love the comic book experience on it. Been reading comics since 1992 :)

I stay away from comic books. Little snippets of stories just upset me. I want an arc, not a soap opera!

So I buy graphic novels or collections of books instead.

I love having an on going story that I can keep coming back to. On of the things I want more of from the books (literature not comic) I read is more story after the story is done. I want the author to keep writing on my favorite storyline or character. Comics can do that, and they have pretty pictures.
