GW2 Just a little concerned

It has been a minute since I've done any 80+ content in GW 2, since I have been getting my Ranger to level 80. But one thing I have noticed it the lack of people playing together, or lack of people all together. I hit 80 with my warrior in 2 to 3 weeks after launch and the community was still booming, but now it seems the population has dropped drastically. Does anyone else notice this? Or am I just playing at the wrong times haha.

We've all noticed this. That's why we're trying hard to keep a community going so even when the "majority" stops playing, we still have us to play with :) You'll also notice now that wintersday is gone, people have jumped ship to other games TEMPORARILY, until these fabled patches go live. You'll see people come and go in waves, we're in a go phase right now, that's all.

I noticed it too, especially in this community (though we lasted a bit longer than most because of our events). A lot of GW2 players have become patch hoppers- only logging in to check out the new content, and if that content is not up to par or is quickly consumed, the players disappear again until the next patch. Anet has been trying to get us hyped for the next couple of months, but I think most of us are wary after the "Karka Invasion."

There are a handful of old guildies and quite a few new ones that are still hanging in there (Triage included). Personally, I'd probably be playing as much as I used to, working on a legendary or something if I wasn't so immersed in Minecraft right now. I get this way a lot though. I'll burn out on Minecraft and be back to GW2 soon enough. :)

Don't forget that it's after Christmas (and all the sales that came with it), and a lot of people are playing new games for now.

Yeah, it's just disheartening knowing that most 80+ content is not ment to be solo'd. And at the moment with my guild being empty, I have been forced to roll a third toon and work on my third 80. I can't get a fractal run to save my life haha.

I feel ya man! We are CONSTANTLY working on shit to help our guild out. This is why our community is the most important thing to us! Even the bigger 500 man guilds get max 20 online users these days.

On that note though we have some interesting ideas to keep it alive and well coming up in our guild meeting and podcast :)

I could've written this, I discovered the fun of Minecraft just after Christmas and have been playing it so much and now that the guild server was reset I have gotten into it heavily, but at least I'm still participating with the guild *ponydurr:

I login then lvl my warrior for a bit then... try to finish skyrim (yes i havn't yet) then play some torchlight 2... then GW2 again... then RL hits me with a bat in the neck... and so forth... the only reason i think i still love GW2 is that I REALLY took my time lvling my first toon to 80, I didn't just burn trough content, so by the time some ppl were already bored with the game I was only lv 50'ish and hoping trough fields of flowers, spiders and cave bats.

you notice more people out lvling new toons than you do people in their lvl 80 toons. which is alright. a good community guild I think is essential to continue into long term progression. People aren't restricted to just one game as they use to when WoW was in their prime. So many choices out there and Arenanet knows that. Their content has to continue roiling out frequently to bring people back in each month. For the Hardcore players, it's just getting them to come together and a good guild helps but couldn't hurt if Anet put in some better tools like a dungeon or group finder. Maybe soon in an upcoming patch

If I had time, I would get on more often. Unfortunately it's much easier for me to jump into a single 20-40 minute game of League right now than dedicate time to completing my personal story or even start working toward legendaries. Darn real life... :(
