Austin Texas got like half an inch of snow and closed the schools and freeways. True story according to reddit.com
 
It has snowed exactly 3 times in Phoenix in my life. Each time the pavement and ground was still warm enough that it all melted within 10 mins of landing.
 
I heard that the snow currently paralyzing the South was 3 inches, with some ice thrown in for good measure. That's enough to warrant some caution while driving, but the real crisis occurred when people lost their minds because they didn't know what to do.

The truth in this statement is sad. I was late for work this morning because people don't know how to drive in this weather.

It doesn't get better no matter where you live. We get snow all the time in the north east and you'd think people never saw it before when behind the wheel of a car.

This is true...then these assholes dump 19 tons of sand and salt all over the roads...I am adamant in my belief that they should not plow the roads and you should own a 4x4 drive vehicle if you live somewhere it snows regularly in winter. Salt is bad for everyone...it eats at your car components, its not good for you or your floors, and its especially not good for your dog's feet.
 
Well on a happy note....... WE GOT FUCKING SNOW!!!! boom!

And yes people are idiots around the south when it comes to snow. I almost got into an accident this morning coming into work... and i didn't even leave my apartment complex yet. We have a stupid round-about before leaving the compound and the entire thing is a sheet of ice. The guy on the other end comes up to it as i am halfway to him and decides to go when there is half a cars length between us. He skids like an idiot, pulls over to the left after coming out and stops. Lucky for him my horn was still frozen because i was hitting it so hard.
 
There was barely enough here to cover the roads but only 25 people came in to work so now to make up what we are behind we are working Saturday.

Ouch, that sucks. I'm just going to work a lot more today and tomorrow. Got my nephew coming in on Saturday.
