What role do you wish to play in the guild? For example: PvP, PvE, Casual/Social
Well, if I had answered this question about 3 months ago, I would have said PvE only. Once I got a taste of the first beta, I was completely blown away by the sPvP and WvW. Except for for Age of Conan, I've always only done PvE. Infact I've always worn the badge of a carebear with pride. This game has changed everything. So to answer your question, everything including crafting.
Which previous MMO's or online games have you played and how long for?
Oooofff! I apologize in advance for the length of this response. lol.
My first MMO experience started in 2003 with Final Fantasy XI when it was first released in North America. I played it for 3 glorious years. Still to this day this is my favorite gaming/community/guild experience. Back then this was definitely a hardcore game. It was a grind-fest. Fortunately, that's not me anymore. I can't camp a mob pop for 30 hrs straight just to get some stupid epic loot. lol.
After a short break from mmos, I came back and played Tabula Rasa for 6 months. Nice concept but poor execution. Futuristic mmo shooter in space. Still had fun with it.
Next came the game that broke my heart. Age of Conan. Played it for a year. This game had sooo much potential but it was just released too soon and unfinished. I stuck with it because the combat was great and new and the Guild I was in was really awsome. Nice group of people. I went back to it a couple years later to try it out. It was still fun but everyone I knew was gone so it wasn't meant to be. Guild Wars 2 reminds me so much of this game except it seems its being released in much better shape.
I ran Aion for 10 months. Fun game with the best character creator I've seen to date. Unfortunately, the guild leader quit the game causing the guild to implode and sending everyone their seperate ways.
Played DC universe for a few months. Wasn't really my cup of tea but it gave me a chance to play with my nephew. He loved it.
The last mmo I played was Final Fantasy XIV for 9 months. /cry It didn't turn out like I had hoped. I probably set unrealistic goals with this game. I was trying to recapture the feeling I had with FFXI. To give you an idea of my feelings toward the gameplay, I leveled 4 crafting jobs to max before I ever got a combat profession to max. Crafting was boss in this game.
And now Guild wars 2. ;-)
Were you a part of a guild? What was your experience?
Yes, I was in a guild in every game i played. I've always enjoyed the social experience of guilds. Most have been very pleasant. A couple were a little unstable but still ok.
How did you hear about the Guild?
I've acually been following tr1age justin.tv stream since the days he started streaming APB. I'm under the name Madcowfighter. Lol not a stalker just a lurker.
What will you bring to the ALTTABME community? (Chatty? Skilled? Funny? Helping?)
I'm a friendly guy who's very chill. I have no problem droping everthing to help out a guild mate or attend an event. I'm in it as much for the comradery as for the gameplay. I have no problem specing my class to whatever suits the need of the group in a particular event. I'm also a dedicated crafter in most games I've played. What I won't bring to the table is any degree of leet speak. I'm too old and too terrible at it to even attempt. So you'll never hear PWN! or NOOB! coming out of my mouth. lol
Will Arcanix be the only guild you join?
yes
Is there anything else you would like to throw in here at the end?
I've generally played tank classes in all the mmos i've played. Tanking has always been my passion. So when I found out about the lack of holy trinity, I was a little worried. Thankfully, I don't miss it at all. I had originally planed on rolling a warrior at release and make him kind of tanky just to get my fix. So I decided to play a class for the betas that I had absolutely no interest in to not ruin the newness of the warrior. Well the unexpected happened. I fell in love with the Ranger and that's become my new main.
Anyways, sorry for the long post. Hope I've given you what you needed. Thanks and hope to hear from you.
